OH!

So I just remembered I haven't told you about my crayon boxes...

I spray painted the side I liked the most. Then I decided to spray paint the other side (I honestly have no idea why...)

And well.... The side I liked got STUCK to the board I use and is now ruined.

Sad Day...

HOWEVER! I came up with a better idea for the boxes that would look a lot nicer and would never fall apart on me.

I plan on buying some little wood panels (like craft panels for Michael's). And I'll glue them together/nail them together and spray paint THAT and it will be a lot nicer! All the lines will be straight on the box and it won't fall apart and it'll be nice.

So my project will definitely cost more than I'm sure lots would be willing to pay but I feel like this project will end up saving James and I so much money on food. (meaning... we won't eat out or eat junk food anymore if we plan out our meals)

Clothespins!

So I did some of my clothespins today! They look a lot cooler than I thought!

Update

I totally forgot to take some pictures of all the steps I am doing...  So you'll just have to use your imagination.

Now so far..

I started with the frame that we bought at the DI and I spray painted it a dark brown that I liked. It was originally a yellowish tan color but now it's a nice dark brown.

It was a little sticky when it had dried so I sprayed some sealer on it.

see James's HOT legs in the back ;)

Then I situated my scrapbook paper onto the backing for the frame so they would match up (you will not find a piece that fits the whole thing. unless you use wrapping paper). For this I used modpodge to glue them on to the back.

Then as I said before, I want it to be as simple as it can be when it comes to colors. So I went to see if I had a good brown card stock for the letters. Turns out I didn't. And I didn't want to go out and look for the right brown so... I took a random card stock and spray painted it with my brown. Now the frame and the card stock are the same color.

All of that stuff I did over the weekend. Today (Feb. 27) I printed out the letters, which turned out to be a lot harder then I was planning. When I printed the paper out... you could hardly see the letters and then the ink didn't stick so I couldn't cut them out... so

SOLUTION! I printed the letters out BACKWARDS on the other side. So now I can see them and the ink sticks. Yay!

I used my mom's exact-o-knife set that my dad gave her for christmas (it is nice. I want one)

They turned out pretty good! I put them down and I decided I like the smaller one.

They are the same font but one is bold. I wanted it to be typewriter font because I bought some stamps to write the days on the clothespins and their font is typewriter. (nice and uniform)

MORE UPDATE

I wrote all this stuff over a week ago and things have changed since then. I glued on the letters and the brown line to the board (so now it's permanent...) And I modpodged over it so it doesn't fall off.

Today I received my stamps! So I'm super excited! I ran out to Michael's and was lucky! Found some super cheap ink pads that are the perfect colors! (a brown and blue) Hopefully they aren't cheap cheap. (meaning.. I hope they work)

Here is the set I bought. The nice chinese lady sent this other stuff too! A little green ink pad. And this weird birthday card and love note thing with an envelope.

Here are the stamps! Full lowercase and uppercase set PLUS numbers and some punctuation. They cost roughly $20 but worth it. I love stamps!

Here are the ink pads! they cost $3.99 each.

I also decided to just use the crayon box. So I have a crayon box and just cut it in two. And I will hopefully spray paint them soon.

I'm super excited for this project! It is going to be awesome!
